New Alitalia flights will link Venice and Verona to Catania

Alitalia continues to invest in connections between the North and the South of Italy, and is set to introduce new direct flights in August from Venice and Verona to Catania to cater for travellers in Veneto and Sicily.

The new routes join Alitalia’s flight network of more than 400 weekly connections between the North and South of Italy to reiterate its commitment to domestic air travel.

Direct flights between Venice and Catania will operate four days a week, and the Verona-Catania service three times a week. Passengers will be able to enjoy the newly refurbished cabin interiors of Alitalia’s aircraft as well as earn and redeem miles of the Alitalia MilleMiglia loyalty programme.

The new flights will see Alitalia strengthen its presence in Verona, where the airline operates 25 flights a week to Rome as well as the new weekly flights to Catania.

Alitalia has also increased the number of destinations from Venice where it operates 64 weekly flights to Rome, Catania, Berlin and Abu Dhabi.

The new Venice-Catania service will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing from Venice at 10.20 pm and arriving in Sicily at 00.05 am.  The departure from Catania will be at 10.00 pm, landing in Venice at 11.50 pm.

The Verona-Catania service will operate with Embraer aircraft every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing from Verona at 4.25 pm and landing in Catania at 6.15 pm.  The departure from Catania will be at 4.10 pm – Saturday at 5.05 pm – landing in Verona at 6:05 pm and 7.00 pm on Saturday.
